Complete Safety
Over 25,000 injuries per year are attributed to radiator edges and pipework
Exposed valves & pipework
ThermaSkirt® can protect precious persons against injury as it hides all pipework and exposed valves and has no sharp edges. Falls onto radiators account for over 94% (23,000) of injuries caused by them (Source: ROSPA 2001 HaSS & LaSS Statistics).
Burns & Scalds
ThermaSkirts lower operating temperature can also eliminate scalds and burns, which whilst only accounting for less than 2% of radiator related injuries, is a concern for parents or carers. The majority of scalds are classified as ‘grab’ injuries, as the very young or very old grasp the radiator to prevent a fall. ThermaSkirt does not present this opportunity and so the only remaining concern is in the Care Home or NHS is where illness or incapacity may cause a patient to lie against the skirting.*
LST Control
ThermaSkirt® can be installed using the TherMiser programmable control unit with sensor that prevents the skirting surface from getting too hot. This has been installed by the NHS in several installations, including the Paediatric ward at Trafford General. The TherMiser unit also provides room time and temperature control.

Cleanliness & Hygiene
ThermaSkirts’ smooth lines and ease of cleaning means it has been singled out as a major step forward in the battle against communicable diseases such as MRSA and C.Difficile in hospitals and care homes.

Several NHS PCTs have specified ThermaSkirt to combat infections such as C.Diff & MRSA
