Linda Barker Chooses Thermaskirt

"When the Dream Lodge Group commissioned internationally acclaimed TV designer Linda Barker to design the interior of their Linnet Lodge, a major concern was the heating. Linda was adamant that she didn't want radiators, and there were concerns that Under Floor would not be suitable for the timber construction.

ThermaSkirt ®, manufactured in the UK by DiscreteHeat Ltd. provided the energy efficiency and stylish aesthetic solution she was looking for. ThermaSkirt ® is a unique polymer alloy extrusion that replaces the skirting & heating in one. The physical effect is indistinguishable from Under Floor in that it heats from all around at low level, but is very quick to respond and uses very little water.

Overall energy savings compared to standard radiators can be up to 25%.

It can be installed in new build and refurbishment properties, with any type of floor construction and can replace existing radiators as it's a simple 2 pipe feed and return system. Unique TRVs can control the heat in each room, or else the system can be controlled by a manifold and room stat, like a typical UFH installation. ThermaSkirt ® has been independently tested by BSRIA and proven to be more energy efficient and fully conforms to BS EN 442-1."
