BOLTON & BURY BUSINESS AWARDS 2008

WINNER IN TECHNOLOGY, INNOVATION & DESIGN
DiscreteHeat Company Limited

WARM GLOW OF SUCCESS

BASKING in the warm glow of success ... that is DiscreteHeat, whose new and revolutionary heating invention for buildings has taken the honours in the Technology, Heating and Design category.

The award is tribute to Martin Wadsworth who has developed a new system that puts heating behind skirting boards, allowing a room to be heated without any visible appliances, such as radiators.

Since its launch 18 months ago, the Atherton company has grown by 40 percent and now commands an enviable £1 million turnover. Around 1,300 systems have already been installed. Managing director Martin is in discussions with major housing developers and he predicts that sales will soar to £20 million during the next five years.

Today the company employs a 12-strong workforce at its Coal Pit Lane base and its new heating system is generating international interest with enquiries coming from as far afield as France, Canada and Spain.

A jubilant Martin said:

"This has really come as a surprise and it's fantastic to win this. All of us at DiscreteHeat believe we have a world-beating product which is manufactured here in the North-west. This award recognises that and I'm just delighted that we have been chosen as the winners."

NEW DEALS IN PIPELINE FOR HOME HEATING COMPANY

The new method of heating introduced by DiscreteHeat Company Limited is between 13 and 25 percent more efficient than the traditional home radiator. The heating system works by putting aluminium pipes inside skirting boards, which are then heated with hot water from a gas boiler.
